PLANNING APPLICATIONS 2022

Making a planning application plays an important role in the majority of the projects carried out here at McKevitt King Architects. Generally, planning permission is required for any development of land or property unless the development is specifically exempted from this need. Development includes the carrying out of works (building, demolition, alteration) on land or buildings and the making of a material (i.e. significant) change of use of land or buildings. Since January 2022 we have lodged 46 planning applications with our local County Councils, with 31 of these applications being granted, 1 application refused, and we are awaiting a decision on the remaining 14 lodged applications That is almost one application being processed and lodged per week! With Louth County Council now available on the e-planning system, we are now able to lodge a planning application in PDF format. We hope that the other Local Authorities will follow suit later this year or next year, streamlining the whole process.
