Town Centre House Photographed

We recently photographed a beautiful in-fill house in the centre of Drogheda. Click here to see the finial finished images and more details of the project.

This house enjoys one of the best views of the Viaduct in Drogheda. At the end of a quiet mature cul-de-sac the house sits on an in-fill site that was until recently part of a garden behind a high wall. Although the house is different in scale and material to the houses immediately surrounding it, it nestles well in the context, looking almost as if it was always there. Through form, detail and material, the house enjoys a traditional expression but yet remains vibrant and fresh. With an emphasis on access/mobility the house and surrounding apron is all on a single level, with wide corridors and doorways, allowing ease of access and circulation.

The open plan living area is linear and vaulted, filled with light from three sides and above. This space is completed with a large corner window on the end gable wall looking south, out over the garden to the viaduct and beyond. Due to the sloping nature of the site, the garden is stepped down on a lower level which enjoys privacy and the southern aspect. A fabulous home in the heart of the town.
