3D Models

Back in October 2018 we wrote a blog on how 3D models are being used here in the office. Since that we have being utilising them more than ever to showcase our designs to clients and associates. With the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic earlier this year and having to socially distance ourselves, 3D models have become an even more important way to describe and explain a project to a client. From simple massing models to detailed finished building renders they allow us to realistically and accurately present our projects.

To allow us to generate these models more realistically and efficiently we recently invested in a new dedicated rendering machine. This computer is equipped with a faster more modern processor, a lot more ram, a more advanced graphics card and a much faster hard drive. Models that would once have taken hours to render can now be rendered in minutes.

We can also now generate 3d walkthroughs and flyovers to further describe our projects. On the software side we are always looking for new and better ways to generate more realistic and accurate models. Donnacha, Eoin and Richie work as a team using Autocad, Sketchup, TwinMotion, Photoshop, iMovie and Indesign (to name but a few of the software packages) to generate a convincing and realistic means to communicate the concepts and detailed design of our projects.
