Team Site Visits

September 16, 2025

At McKevitt King Architects we believe that seeing a project through from start to finish is a crucial part of our work - and our team's development. While we spend countless hours in the office designing, drafting, navigating the complexities of planning permission, constructions drawings and tender submissions nothing compares to the experience of being on-site.

This is why our tradition of regular site visits is so important. Recently, our entire team took a tour to visit several of our projects currently under construction. It was an invaluable opportunity to step away from our desks and see the tangible results of our hard work. Our recent tour was a great mix of different project types, showcasing the variety of work we do here in McKevitt King Architects.

So, why do on-site visits matter to us? For many in our office, especially those who specialise in the initial design and planning stages, these visits are a rare and rewarding experience. They get to see the “fruits of their labour” in a way that a computer screen can never replicate. It’s one thing to draw a detailed plan for a foundation or a roof truss, and another entirely to see it being built by skilled craftspeople.

These tours help us all connect with the physical reality of construction. They foster a deeper understanding of the building process and allow us to appreciate the craftsmanship and hard work of the contractors we partner with. This kind of hands-on learning makes us better architects and designers, improving how we approach future projects from the very beginning.

We are incredibly proud of the progress being made on all these sites and look forward to the next stage: seeing them completed. Keep an eye on our blog and social media for updates as these exciting projects near completion!
