Eoin recently took part in the RIAI’s CPD seminar “Understanding the RIAI 2025 Construction Contract”, which provides an important update to the standard forms widely used across the Irish construction industry. The session outlined the major changes introduced in the 2025 edition, including a new structure with clearly defined contract particulars, updated insurance and liability clauses, improved procedures for claims and payments, and clearer arrangements for contractor-led design. These updates aim to make the contract more flexible, transparent and easier to administer on real projects.
For Eoin, the CPD was a valuable opportunity to stay up to date with best practice and ensure the office is fully informed as the new contract becomes industry standard. Understanding the practical implications of the revised clauses will help us deliver projects more efficiently, reduce administrative uncertainty, and continue to provide clear guidance to clients, consultants and contractors as the 2025 contract begins to roll out across the sector.
