Post Graduate Course for Melissa

October 10, 2025

Melissa Listanti from our office has recently begun the Diploma in Building Performance (Energy Efficiency in Design) at TU Dublin, a postgraduate course aimed at upskilling professionals in designing and evaluating buildings to meet modern energy and sustainability standards. The part-time programme combines online learning with on-campus workshops at the Bolton Street campus and focuses on practical approaches to improving building energy performance, comfort, and compliance with Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) regulations.

The course explores key topics such as energy modelling, retrofit design, hygrothermal risk assessment, and thermal bridge calculation, alongside advanced tools like DEAP and PHPP. Students develop the technical expertise to assess and improve the energy performance of both new and existing buildings—skills that are increasingly vital as Ireland and the EU move toward stricter sustainability targets and low-carbon construction practices.

By undertaking this MSc, Melissa is deepening her understanding of sustainable design and energy efficiency, complementing our practice’s ongoing commitment to environmentally responsible architecture. Her studies will bring valuable insight into the latest building performance methods, helping us continue to deliver projects that are both energy-conscious and future-ready.
