Online Security Training

October 28, 2025

At McKevitt King Architects, keeping our digital systems and information secure is a key part of how we operate. We recently took part in an IT 'Security 101' training session with our support partners at Omnisys, who provided valuable insights into staying safe online - both in and out of the office.

The session covered a wide range of important topics, including how to recognise phishing emails, malicious attachments, and fake or compromised websites. We also discussed the dangers of ransomware, data breaches, and social engineering scams, where attackers attempt to trick users into revealing confidential information. Omnisys shared practical examples of how even a simple link or a realistic-looking email can open the door to major cyber threats if not handled carefully.

Online security has never been more important. As architects, we depend on digital communication, cloud-based collaboration, and file sharing every day — from sensitive client information to detailed project data. A single security lapse could have serious consequences for both our team and our clients.

This training was a valuable reminder that cyber safety is everyone’s responsibility. By pausing before clicking, using strong and unique passwords, keeping software up to date, and reporting anything suspicious, we can all play our part in protecting our office network and ensuring our projects remain safe and secure.
