As is now tradition in the office whenever the FIFA World Cup comes around, we have to have a bit of fun with it. While some of us are counting down the days until kick-off, others couldn't tell you the difference between a corner kick and a corner shop. Thankfully, the chance of winning a few bob has a remarkable way of turning everyone into a football expert.
So, naturally, we've organised the office sweepstake.
The draw has been made, (Thanks Cian...!) teams have been allocated, and loyalties have been established - at least until someone discovers they've drawn one of the tournament favourites. Suddenly, countries we've never previously heard of or followedhave become the subject of intense research, and confident predictions are being made based on little more than gut instinct and the occasional lucky guess.
As the tournament approaches, excitement is building, rivalries are forming, and everyone is convinced they have the winning team. Whether you're a lifelong football fan or simply in it for the prize money, this always brings a bit of extra fun to the office.
Now all that's left is for the football to start and for our newly adopted teams to make us proud!
