CVRT Centre gets Planning Permission

November 7, 2025

McKevitt King Architects are delighted to announce that we have successfully obtained planning permission for a new development at Smiths of Drogheda. This project represents a significant investment in the ongoing improvement and expansion of the existing premises, supporting both the business’s operational needs and its future growth.

The approved development will include the demolition of the existing car wash building and the construction of a new CVRT Test Centre and enhanced landscaping along the eastern boundary. The scheme also provides for the retention of the existing storage shed and prefabricated office unit, as well as the creation of a new car wash area featuring a canopy and roller shutter door.

In addition, the project allows for the retention and enhancement of the existing parking area to the west of the showroom, with new fencing, landscaping, and a dedicated car display area - all contributing to a more functional and visually cohesive site layout.

We are pleased to continue our collaboration with Smiths of Drogheda on this development and look forward to seeing the project progress to the next stage.
