School Projects Progress

McKevitt King Architects are currently working on five different primary school projects and a couple of secondary schools, located north & south of the banks of the river Boyne, from the parish of Mell in Drogheda to Yellow Furze and Kilmessan on the plains of Co. Meath. The  projects in St. Joseph's National School in Mell and Yellow Furze National School in Beauparc, both two classroom extensions, are nearing completion. Kilmessan Mixed National School, a two classroom extension, is on site and progressing well. Dangan National School, a two classroom extension in Co. Meath, is getting ready for planning whilst St. Oliver's National School, a one classroom extension in Drogheda, is going for tender soon. Our Lady's College, Greenhills, is on site with a large scale window replacement contract.

As can be seen, the projects currently range in stages from planning through tendering and construction. Some of the schools are returning clients for whom the practice previously delivered successful projects. Design solutions include the utilisation and remodelling of parts of the existing school buildings in addition to the creation of new additional floor area. McKevitt King Architects have a long tradition in educational buildings and have worked closely with the DoES (Department of Education & Skills) design standards for decades.
