St Johns Home

We are currently preparing a planning application on behalf of the North and East Housing Association and St. Peter’s Church of Ireland for the refurbishment and re-use of Saint John’s Home at Peter’s Hill, Drogheda. The complex which comprises two buildings and a central courtyard is located at the entrance to Saint Peter’s Church of Ireland which was designed by Francis Johnson. The west elevation of Saint John’s Home adds to the special character of Peter’s Hill and the entrance gate, screen wall and gables present a fine Classical streetscape and formal façade to the the square located at the top of Peter’s Hill.

Saint Johns Home AXO Sketch

Saint John’s Home is a protected structure of Regional Importance and Peter’s Hill square is one of the best urban spaces in Drogheda, although it is underutilised as a civic space due to its current use as a car park. We are also working on the redevelopment of the former Fire Station site at Scarlet Street with the North and East Housing Association and are very excited about our most recent collaboration on this conservation project at Peter’s Hill.
