Planning Applications 2018

Making a planning application plays an important role in the majority of the projects carried out here at McKevitt Architects. Generally, planning permission is required for any development of land or property unless the development is specifically exempted from this need. Development includes the carrying out of works (building, demolition, alteration) on land or buildings and the making of a material (i.e. significant) change of use of land or buildings. Since January 2018 we have lodged 39 planning applications with our local County Councils, with 29 of these applications being granted, 1 application refused, and we are awaiting a decision on the remaining 9 lodged applications. To break this down that’s one application being processed and lodged per week! When we compare these figures to 2017, 26 applications were lodged and granted in total throughout the year whilst we are on track to double that by the end of 2018.
